This link comes from my favorite new source ZeroHedge. It is actually quite shocking but this article pulls data from the Social Security Administration.
Almost 40% of American workers earn less than $20,000 a year.
If you make more than $50,000 a year, you are in the top 30% of American workers.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I remember hearing the median income was $45,000 to $50,000 a year. The median income is skewed by the top earners.
Yes. I think the situation is similar in the UK. There are a great many people hanging on in quiet desperation. They remain honest, work hard and never get anything for it. Sooner or later they will simply decide this is a game of fools, the result will be a radical shift to the left or to the right- but a radical shift in any case.

Of course. As sad as this article is, I found some bright side that it doesn't take that much effort to be the in top 30, 40, or 50%.
